What a week! I finally have time to update some of our recent feature stories. NFL Canada did a feature on Brian Bulcke found here: http://www.nflcanada.com/News/2007/10/12/4570892.html The Cleveland Plain Dealer did a story on Scott Shafer, our defensive coordinator.
Over in Europe, the magazine Capital, a leading financial and lifestyle publication in Italy will be featuring the Stanford Golf Course. The Detroit News is doing a feature on football player Kris Evans, and the Michigan Football Guide is highlighting alum Jim Harbaugh. Athlon Sports online is featuring Caroline from the cheerleading squad in their Sideline Spirit Contest, make sure you vote here when they post her photos: http://www.athlonsports.com/college-football/8054/sideline-spirit
Sara Lowe from the synchro team is in Faces in the Crowd in Sports Illustrated Magazine this week. Unfortunately, after submitting our photos and taking a look at the photos from wire services covering Stanford's monumental upset of the #1 team in the country, SI did not run any photos in this week's issue. I'll have to be satisfied when we land on the cover I suppose. But take a look at the next issue of Stanford Magazine and we'll have a double-page spread in there. I also just received a copy of the 10/2/07 Tennessean which featured a story on swimmer Shaun Phillips and a copy of the Contra Costa Times which featured Allison Falk and Lizzy George of the women's soccer team on 9/28/07.

We had a big weekend full of events...soccer, football, cross country and water polo, so we're editing as fast as we can.

It's been awhile...the photo department is in the middle of the fall season, with 13 teams already finished with their headshots and team photos. We are also beginning to scan the black and white photo archives with the help of two assistants and a student worker.

Welcome to Our Blog
Welcome to the Stanfordphoto blog. This is where you'll find news about where Stanford sports photographs are being published and other interesting photo news.
Managing approximately 12,000 images a year for the athletic department and 35 varsity teams doesn't allow much time to track links and acquire all copies of our published work. But I do think it would be useful for parents, student-athletes and fans to know what feature stories are in the works.
In the last few weeks, I've sent images to the Boston Globe for a story on Corey Gatewood, and images of coach Chris Dalman to the Santa Cruz Sentinel, San Mateo paper, and the Mercury News for stories that ran the third week in August.
In the 8/13 ESPN the Magazine, headshots of superstars Ben Wildman-Tobriner of the swim team and Arianna Lambie of Track/Cross Country made the magazine... In other publications, Ekom Udofia of the football team is pictured in the 2007 Sports Illustrated College Football Preview issue, check it out.
As for previous work published in August, field hockey player Jessica Zutz is on page 21 of the 8/17 edition of the Palo Alto Weekly, as well as football player Nate Wilcox-Fogel on page 22, Mark Bradford on page 19 and U.S. Amateur golf competitors Daniel Lim and Joseph Bramlett are in there as well.
Mark Bradford and Evan Moore are pictured in the 8/21/07 issue of the Palo Alto Daily News, and Mark Bradford was in the P.A. Daily News again on 8/22/07...
